At a bar after a sprint demo, Aoife has just talked the vendor rep into extending the team's paid trial for free, mostly by complimenting his product. Jay teases her about it, half impressed and half warning her that the rep may have noticed.
Why this conversation
A smooth talker is someone whose talk is so fluent and charming that people give them what they want, whether by flattery, persuasion, or flirting. It is a compliment with a wink: said to a friend it means "you know exactly what to say", said about a stranger ("Don't trust him, he's a smooth talker") it means "he talks people into things". It is not the same as a good speaker or a clear presenter, which are about content. Goodness! on its own is a mild, slightly old-fashioned exclamation of surprise, softer than "Oh my God".
