A vendor has given Jay's team a two-week enterprise trial of a distributed-tracing tool. Mateo, who set it up, only pointed the API gateway at it. Jay wants the whole system on it before the trial ends so they can decide whether to pay.
Why this conversation
For all it is worth means to the fullest extent you can, getting everything possible out of something: "run for all you're worth", "use the trial for all it's worth", "milk it for all it's worth". The trap is the near-twin "for what it's worth", a modest hedge meaning "in case this helps", which learners mix up because both end in "worth". "For all it's worth" is energetic and casual; in a written plan say "make full use of".
Dialogue
Mateo: The vendor gave us a two-week enterprise trial of the tracing tool. Full retention, every dashboard unlocked.
Jay: Then let's use it for all it's worth. Point every service at it this week, not just the gateway.
Mateo: For all it's worth? That sounds like you don't think it's worth much.
Jay: The opposite. "For all it's worth" means squeeze everything out of it. "For what it's worth" is the modest one you're thinking of.
Mateo: Got it. So the whole load test runs through it before the trial ends.
Jay: Exactly. In two weeks we'll know whether it's worth paying for, and we'll have the traces to prove it either way.

for all it is worth — 전력을 기울여, 최대한 (뽑아낼 수 있는 만큼 다)
**For all it is worth**는 할 수 있는 최대한, 어떤 것에서 뽑아낼 수 있는 것을 전부 뽑아낸다는 뜻이다. "run for all you're worth", "use the trial for all it's worth", "milk it for all it's worth". 함정은 모양이 비슷한 "for what it's worth"로, "도움이 될지 모르지만"이라는 겸손한 완충 표현이다. "For all it's worth"는 활기차고 캐주얼하며, 문서에는 "make full use of"가 어울린다.
Mateo: "for all it's worth"
"For all it's worth"는 있는 대로 다 뽑아내라는 뜻이야. 네가 떠올린 겸손한 쪽은 "for what it's worth"고.
체험판·기회처럼 기한이 있는 것에는 "use it for all it's worth"로 지시한다. "Point every service at it this week"처럼 무엇을 어디까지 할지 바로 뒤에 붙이면 구호가 아니라 지시가 된다.
"'For what it's worth' is the modest one you're thinking of" — 한 문장으로 두 표현의 차이를 정리한다.
