Why this conversation
At an airport, "connecting" and "transfer" are not synonyms you can swap. Connecting describes the ticket — two flights bought as one itinerary, so the airline owns the link and your bags ride through. Transfer describes the movement — you walking, or your bag moving, from one aircraft, terminal or airport to the next. Say the wrong one at a counter and you get the wrong answer to the only question that matters: if I miss it, whose problem is it?
