On a work trip Jay wakes up with one-sided head pain and can't stand the hotel curtains being open, so he goes to a walk-in clinic near the office. At the desk, "headache" turns out not to be precise enough for the form.
Why this conversation
A migraine is a specific recurring headache, usually on one side, often with nausea and sensitivity to light and sound, not simply a bad headache. It is an ordinary clinical word, so saying it at a clinic changes which questions you are asked next. Americans say "MY-grain", the British "MEE-grain". The trap is using it loosely for any strong headache.
Dialogue
Aoife: What brings you in this morning?
Jay: I've had a migraine since about five. It's on one side, and the light in here is making it worse.
Aoife: Do you get them often?
Jay: Maybe once a month. A plain headache I'd sleep off, but this one comes with nausea, so I call it a migraine.
Aoife: I'll give you something stronger. Lie down in the dark for an hour after you take it.
Jay: Thank you. Is it all right to fly home tomorrow evening?

Aoife:
Aoife:
"A plain headache I'd sleep off, but this one comes with nausea, so I call it a migraine."
"Is it all right to fly home tomorrow evening?"
