Why this conversation
BD English is mostly about declining a term without declining the deal, and about naming what you can give instead.
Dialogue
Dana: We'd like to be the only wallet with Jayverse markets for the first six months. It lets us justify the engineering.
Jay: I understand why you'd ask, and I want this integration. Exclusivity is the one term I can't give. Let me say why, and then what I can give.
Dana: Go ahead.
Jay: Markets settle on a public chain. If one wallet has them, the others fork the front end in a weekend, and I've spent goodwill defending a fence that doesn't exist.
Dana: So what does a launch partner get?
Jay: First access to the API, your name on the launch, and a co-written case study. Things that stay true after month six. If those don't justify the work, it's fine to say so and we stay friends.
Dana: Let me take that back to the team.
Jay: Please do. And if the answer is no this quarter, tell me what would make it yes next quarter.
